A new post from Motionographer put this short film in the spotlight, and it is well deserved. The music & sound design is spot on, the style is refreshing as most 3D films try their hardest to make everything as realistic as possible. My favorite is the representation of fire, plus I love Jessica Rabbit (note: halloween two years ago, I was her!) and the “yankee gal” in this is very much inspired by her. The seduction is beautiful. It’s essentially a dance with death and an acceptance of going down with his girl or leaving her to die and saving himself.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I already broke my attempt of trying to update every day. In an attempt to at least post something here I will update you one what I’m doing…. creatively!

At my day job I am in the midst of producing assets….. a crap load of assets. The deadline is next Friday for all of the videos and I haven’t started animating any of them. I still have to shoot b-roll for a couple of the scripts. As far as graphics are concerned, I have to make 4 different characters, backdrops and props…. I’ll be cutting it close, but it will get done, wish me luck!

I am trying to finish up a site that it feels like I have been working on for eons. Aside from tweaking the contact page and finding out how to fix the header in ie, all I have to do is some flash banners for the homepage… I’m just waiting on content from my clients and then I can knock this project out of the way and get my last paycheck from it. In upcoming projects, I will be putting together a simple wordpress blog for movie/game reviews for my good friend Will. I’m excited about the graphic style, and hopefully it will end up a big success in the end.

I’m working on a Valentine’s Day card/wallpaper, I’ll post it here when I’m done, I’d love to hear what you guys think. I think I’m going to try to dabble in some different typographical treatments for it, not my strong suit, but I’m trying.

I’m in a mentorship program with AIGA. I have to make a project of some sort around sustainability. Pretty broad, I know, but I have an idea for a print campaign, that if I can pull it off, will be pretty damn impressive haha. That will be posted in an updated portfolio design that I am also planning on working on and finishing by the end of May.

Phew! Quite a bit on my plate, but it’s good to be kept on your toes. Til tomorrow (I hope)…
