1. Yankee Gal gave me chills

A new post from Motionographer put this short film in the spotlight, and it is well deserved. The music & sound design is spot on, the style is refreshing as most 3D films try their hardest to make everything as realistic as possible. My favorite is the representation of fire, plus I love Jessica Rabbit (note: halloween two years ago, I was her!) and the “yankee gal” in this is very much inspired by her. The seduction is beautiful. It’s essentially a dance with death and an acceptance of going down with his girl or leaving her to die and saving himself.

A unique look at an impending death…. juuuust beautiful.

  2. Dead Like Me Kills **spoilers**

I got a call the other day from my good friend Dana exclaiming that he had a copy of the new Dead Like Me movie. As he, my friend Will and I had all watched the series together, we were excited to see what unknowns in the reaper universe they would explain. Maybe some more background about the gravelings or a hint as to what happened after the lights come to take souls away. Sadly we were presented with a steaming pile of bad story telling that ripped the guts out of whatever magic was left in the series. It’s like the writers never saw the series or decided to undevelop everything that the series had accomplished, out of spite? Stupidity? Maybe they really thought they had some good stuff going in their script, oh yeah that would still make them idiots.

  3. Be mine Coraline

So my friends and I were driving down to the Regal - Waterford Lakes talking about what we wanted for lunch. We all got each other really excited about steak at Logans as it was on the way. I know I’m always up for a good steak, but as we noticed what time it was, we moped for a second, realizing that there was no way we could make the movie if we stuffed our faces at a sit down eatery. So instead we settled for chik-fil-a… I really meant nothing else by this anecdote but to let you know that seeing this movie was way more important to me than delicious steak (which I will probably make up for by going to Logan’s tomorrow instead)
